TiDA SIG kick-off meeting on 2 April PHOTOS
On Good Friday, the next day after April Fool‘s Day and two day before Easter, a group of ten digital immigrants representing all levels of education from primary school to university, committed to help teachers cope with the challenge of bringing new technologies into their classrooms, came together at Vilnius Business College to hold the kick-off meeting of the new LAKMA SIG, Teaching in the Digital Age (TiDA). After three hours of work - and play! - we agreed on the following preliminary action plan for 2010:
· 3.30 pm on 30 April: Developing and updating our SIG members‘ blogs to help us promote the TiDA SIG, its activities and our good practice.
· 3.30 pm on 20 May: The Cambridge Day in Vilnius with Johanna Stirling (venue TBC).
· 21-22 May: Our chance to take part in and share our plans with other teachers at the 4th International Conference of LTAL (LKPA) in Kaunas.
· 2 pm on 4 June: Presentation of the project In Charge of My World (see http://english.kolegija.lt) and a chance to try the demo version of the course and the authoring tools that come with it.
· Autumn (dates TBC): LAKMA Assembly and a TiDA SIG meeting.
If you are still reading this message and feel like joining the SIG, please do so on 20 May, 21/22 May or 4 June (see the plan above for details) or just contact Andrzej Raczkowski in person or send an email to andrzej365@hotmail.com.
