Teacher-Methodologist of English. Currently teaches English at the faculty of Medicine at Vilnius University.
Professional interests include ELT and ESP related methodologies.
Current focus: teachability of critical thinking skills at a tertiary level.
ESP SIG unites teachers of English interested in English for Specific Purposes, English for Academic Purposes and English for Occupational/ Professional/Vocational Purposes. The main objectives of the SIG is to provide its members with the opportunity to disseminate good practice in ESP by exchanging experience and to increase their level of competence through round table discussions, seminars, workshops and conferences.
Linked to the main objective, ESP SIG aims at:
- raising better awareness of ESP locally and internationally
- collaborating with other SIGs in LATEFL for better synergies
- initiating ESP projects locally and internationally
- linking and uniting ESP professionals in different educational sectors: e.g. university/tertiary, further, adult, private and free-lance
- providing guidance to professionals new or relatively new to ESP
- providing consultancy to individuals and organizations
- cultivating mutually beneficial and enriching contacts with similar organizations and organizing joint events with organizations of a similar interest or profile.
